SASKATOON – A student is facing charges after a lockdown at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) campus on 4th Avenue South Friday. Saskatoon police were called at 10:50 a.m. CT after a male student reportedly made threats to an instructor.
Officials say the post-secondary institution was locked down for roughly a half hour before closing for the afternoon.

The 29-year-old student was located by officers and removed from the school without incident. Police say he was unarmed at the time of his arrest.
He was expected to appear before a justice of the peace Friday evening to answer to charges of uttering threats and mischief.
