Spring seeding ahead of schedule in province

Spring seeding is slightly ahead of schedule. 

New numbers from the weekly crop report says 74 per cent of the 2012 crop is in the ground. 

The five year average for this time of year is 70 per cent.

Rain in the province last week stopped seeding for several days. 

Topsoil moisture on cropland is now rated at 40 per cent surplus and 60 per cent adequate. 

Saskatchewan Agriculture says the majority of the crops that have emerged are in good to excellent condition but some crops were damaged due to excess moisture and frost.
