SASKATOON – It went out with a bang. After 55 years of service, the original clubhouse at Saskatoon Minor Football Field at Gordie Howe Bowl met its demise at the hands of a demolition crew Wednesday morning.

A small group of people gathered to watch the event as the building was torn apart.

The old clubhouse will be replaced with a new one that is currently under construction.

Once compete, the 12,000 square foot clubhouse with have a healthy snack concession, storage for field equipment and brand new locker rooms. The second floor will house offices, along with a multi-purpose room with an outdoor balcony overlooking the action on the field.

It’s part of a multi-million dollar revitalization project that aims to modernize the facility and turn the bowl into a CFL regulation field.
