WINNIPEG — A former political advisor to Greg Selinger is the centre of an internal union investigation.
The Province and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 832 have cut ties with Heather Grant-Jury.
Heather Grant-Jury was a key advisor to the premier during last year’s cabin revolt, before returning to work with the union. She was also appointed to the board of MPI last October.
In a statement, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 832, said she is no longer employed as the union’s director of its training centre as they conduct an internal investigation.
A provincial spokesperson also told Global News the incident was flagged in December. After the premier was informed, he “requested Grant-Jury’s immediate resignation from MPI.”
The Winnipeg Police confirmed they received a report from the UFCW, but could not say if they were pursing an investigation.
