Students at a Brampton, Ont., high school have met their newest classmate — a decommissioned police bomb robot.
Peel Regional Police presented the former bomb-disposal robot to Central Peel Secondary School on Tuesday by having its extended arm grab a backpack and drive around some pylons before dropping the bag in a trash can.
For kicks, the machine helped the school’s principal take that most human of photos — a selfie.
Students also got a chance to operate the device.
The robot will be used in the school’s robotics program.
