Regina teen facing arson charges

REGINA – A Regina teenager is facing arson charges after a vacant house was set on fire on on Feb. 7, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Police and fire were called to the 1000 block of Garnet Street where it was reported that smoke was coming from a nearby vacant house. A witness observed a male running from the scene.

Regina fire was able to extinguish the fire quickly and investigation by police led them to arrest a 17-year-old boy who was nearby.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named, is charged with Arson Causing Damage to Property, Break and Enter and Failure To Comply with Disposition.

The youth made his first court appearance on Monday morning.
