Beyonce announces world tour stop in Edmonton

EDMONTON — Beyoncé fans who paid close attention to her performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show were rejoicing Sunday night.

Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium has been named one of two Canadian stops on her 2016 world tour, kicking off this April in Miami.

Mark your calendars: Beyoncé will perform in Edmonton on Friday, May 20 and at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Wednesday, May 25.

The “Formation” run, named after her recent single released Saturday, is her first massive tour since the “Mrs. Carter Show” world tour in 2013.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Feb. 16, but pre-sale begins Feb. 9.

The tour will go through North America before heading to Europe in June.
