Axe throwing company targets Winnipeg as next location

WINNIPEG — If you’ve always wanted to pick up an axe and hurl it at a chunk of wood really fast, you’re in luck.

The Toronto-based company, Bad Axe Throwing is opening up a location in Winnipeg in April. The company has expanded all over the country, catering to those who wish to sharpen their axe throwing skills. 

“Axe throwing is the perfect way to celebrate any special occasion; birthdays, bachelor parties, team building events or even just to hone in your skills for the zombie apocalypse,” Joel Melnichuk of Bad Axe Throwing said.

Every event has an axe throwing coach that will teach the group rules, how to throw and even organize a tournament.

Bad Axe Throwing currently has six locations in Canada, but more outfits are opening in the coming weeks, such as Halifax, Montreal and Winnipeg.

If you’re worried about safety, the company’s website posted, “we have never had anyone hurt or injured in any way. It is completely safe and we are very strict in making sure that everyone is throwing the axes in a safe manner.”

Regular admission for an axe throwing event is $44.25 per person, as well as a $200 damage deposit. For more details visit badaxethrowing.com.
