Alberta man struck and killed by logging truck in B.C.

A 23-year-old man from Mannville, Alta. was killed on Jan. 31 after being run over by a logging truck he and a co-worker were in.

The man has been identified by the B.C. Coroners Service as Jacob Wadsworth Low, from a small community east of Edmonton.

Low and another worker were driving an empty logging truck into a camp south of Fraser Lake early in the afternoon on Jan. 31. They pulled over on Holy Cross Logging Road when the truck had mechanical issues. While they were stopped, the 23-year-old was run over by the truck.

Low was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is being investigated by the B.C. Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and RCMP.

Fraser Lake is about 160 km west of Prince George.
