Some Shaw customers in Alberta were having problems placing and receiving calls on their home phones Sunday morning.

Officials at Shaw Communications confirmed some people in the Edmonton and Calgary areas had no dial tone, a fast busy signal, or issues with incoming and outgoing calls. The issues were also affecting customers calling Calgary, Edmonton, and surrounding areas.

As of 10:30 a.m., the company said it was working on resolving the issue as soon as possible. It said technicians were prioritizing these issues. Shaw said some Alberta customers had no dial tone while others were seeing call routing affected.

At 1 p.m. Shaw said some customers were able to receive calls but still couldn’t make outbound calls. The company said it was “closer to resolving the issue” but didn’t have an estimated time for a complete resolution.

At 1:25 p.m., the company said phone services should be restored and said technicians would continue to monitor the situation.

Shaw apologized for the inconvenience.
