Shortly after, several people living in nearby Coventry Hills began calling 911 to report the smell of gas.

Firefighters monitored area air quality to ensure no one was at risk.

“The wind direction and speed were helpful in dissipating the gas,” the Calgary Fire Department said in a news release.

Workers with ATCO were able to shut off the gas line at around 10 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
