A woman in her 70’s has died after falling over a rocky cliff at Helliwell National Park on Hornby Island.
RCMP believe the woman was walking too close to the edge Saturday afternoon when she lost her balance and fell more than 60 feet.

Two boaters were the first to reach the injured woman and they administered CPR. Hornby Island Fire and Rescue arrived on scene shortly after and repelled down the rock edge to take over first aid.
The woman was transported off the cliff but she was pronounced dead before the air ambulance arrived. The victim’s name has not been released.
