Woman killed after head-on collision in New Brunswick

WOODSTOCK, N.B. – A 25-year-old woman is dead after a head-on collision in New Brunswick Friday evening.

RCMP in Woodstock say the crash happened on Route 165 around 9:30 p.m.

Police say the woman, from the Woodstock First Nation, died at the scene, while the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Mounties say the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were also transported to the hospital with less serious injuries.

Police say a third vehicle also struck one of the vehicles involved in the initial collision, but the occupants were not injured.

The woman’s name is not being released at the request of the family.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
