REGINA – A close-call for a male driver Wednesday afternoon, whose van hit and broke a power pole.

The Regina Police Service say emergency services were called to the single vehicle accident at Ross Avenue and McDonald Street at 12:17 p.m.

An investigation has revealed the van was heading Westbound on Ross Ave. when the driver lost control and hit the power pole.

Police say the impact of the crash left power lines unsupported, resulting in SaskPower employees called in to repair the damage.

The male driver appears to be unharmed from the collision.

Police believe road conditions were the main contributing factor of the accident and are not expected to lay any charges at this time.

The street has been re-opened after being closed for much of the afternoon while repair work was ongoing.
