LAWRENCETOWN, N.S. – Repairs are officially underway on the boardwalk at Conrad’s Beach in Lawrencetown.
The boardwalk was torn apart in November of 2014 during a storm. It went un-repaired for the last 15 months, despite a funding announcement from the provincial government in August of 2015.
On Monday, Global News reported on the delays. Two days later, the Department of Natural Resources was on sight making repairs.

It runs through a sensitive ecosystem, which is a nesting site for the piping plover and home to many other species of wildlife. In order to access the beach without the boardwalk, people have been walking through a marsh that is considered a protected site.
A spokesperson for the Department of Natural Resources says it’s anticipated the boardwalk at Conrad’s Beach will be complete by the end of February.
