Three people are in custody in Delta this morning after a dangerous high-speed chase that started in Surrey.

According to police, a citizen notified them that he had confronted a suspicious parked car with several people in it in his neighbourhood in Surrey at about 7:50 p.m. last night. The car with the three suspects fled the area after firing off several shots at the man’s vehicle. The man then decided to pursue the three suspects in their car.

The two vehicles raced down Highway 99 northbound before exiting in Delta onto River Road. While on River Road the car lost control and crashed into a hydro pole in the 8000-block.
