Fatherhood has major impact on Prince William

LONDON – Prince William says that being a father has made him “more emotional” and more prone to welling up.

The royal is the father of two children, 2-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, born in May. He said that becoming a parent has made him more aware of “how precious life is.”

In a television interview, the 33-year-old said he never used to be too worried about things “but now the smallest little things, you well up a little more.” He added he feels more affected by world events and now thinks about “the idea of not being around to see your children grow up.”

The ITV program, to be aired Monday in Britain, is about Prince Charles’ charity. It also features interviews with Charles and his wife Camilla.
