Fentanyl, guns seized by police searching for wanted man

SASKATOON – Three people were arrested following a police search in Saskatoon’s Westview neighbourhood on Boxing Day. The trio is facing a total of 83 drug and weapons-related offenses.

At around 11:15 p.m. CT on Dec. 26, officers attended a residence in the 600-block of Peterson Crescent in an attempt to locate a wanted man.

They located the 21-year-old suspect inside along with a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman.

Police conducted a search of the residence and located varying amounts of cocaine, Fentanyl, codeine, Xanax, steroids, cash and drug paraphernalia.

An assortment of weapons was also found including a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun, a Ruger Mini-14 rifle, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, electrified brass knuckles, airsoft and pellet guns and an expandable baton.

The accused are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Tuesday. The 21-year-old man is also facing three counts of breach of court conditions.
