LONGUEUIL – Residents in Brossard, Saint-Lambert, Greenfield Park and the Lemoyne sector, can now safely drink their tap water.
A boil water advisory that was issued Christmas Day, has now been lifted. City officials tweeted the news Sunday afternoon.
Longueuil city officials issued the advisory after a power failure at the Le Royer water treatment plant on Friday, which caused a drop in water pressure.
Preliminary tests showed that water quality was not affected by the power failure but the advisory was being maintained as a precautionary measure.
Results of a second round of testing Sunday confirmed the preliminary findings and led to the lifting of the advisory.
For more information, residents are being asked to consult the Longueuil, Quebec website.
