Ontario home robbed of $15k worth of valuables, Christmas presents: police

TORONTO — A Chatsworth, Ont. couple isn’t having a very merry Christmas, after they returned home to find presents and valuables worth upwards of $15,000 had been stolen.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a break-in and theft from a residence on Highway 6 in Holland Township in Chatsworth on Monday at about 5:30 p.m.

Police said an unknown person, or persons, had forcibly entered the home and removed a number of items sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The stolen goods include snowboard equipment, men’s and women’s sportswear clothing, work boots, running shoes, two laptop computers, a printer, a panini grill, alcohol and jewelry.

Police said the estimated value of the stolen property was between $10,000 and $15,000.
