WINNIPEG – Manitoba smokers may soon have fewer places to buy cigarettes.
The provincial government has tabled a bill that would prohibit the sale of tobacco products in pharmacies, health-care facilities and from vending machines.

Healthy Living Minister Jim Rondeau says the aim is to further reduce smoking rates in the province.
Rondeau says the bill could become law later this spring.
He says it’s supported by pharmacists and other groups, who have already stopped selling tobacco in some other provinces.
