Chez Doris women’s shelter reminding people it still needs help

MONTREAL — Chez Doris day shelter for women opened its doors to the public for the first time in an effort to raise awareness and rally support.

This comes a year after the community came together to help the shelter re-open its weekend services.

Chez Doris is reminding people it still needs help by holding a photo exhibit called “Where Do You Sleep?” The exhibit was previously held at City Hall last November.

A Christmas tree was adorned with ornaments, each of which included a woman’s wish to be fulfilled.

All proceeds collected from the photos and arts and craft projects will support Chez Doris’ Christmas festivities, New Year’s brunch and other programs for its clientèle.
