Three houses in downtown Regina affected by fire, one destroyed

REGINA – One house was destroyed and two other have been damaged by an early Sunday morning fire.

Firefighters were called to a burning house at 1837 Osler street just before 1 a.m.

The Regina Fire Department says when they arrived on scene the house was fully engulfed in flames and inaccessible.

The fire spread to two neighbouring properties, one to the north and another to the south.

Fire crews said the northern property experienced substantial water damage. The southern property only suffered minor damage.

No one was injured as fire crews said all three houses were vacant.

The fire took several hours to put out and required the force of 22 firefighters.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined at this time as an investigation is on-going.

The Regina Fire Department says they have no indication at this time whether the fire is connected to the string of deliberately set fires that have occurred in Regina since November 22.
