WINNIPEG — After three high profile domestic homicides, police are urging people to seek help if they are in an abusive relationship,

“Domestics is our number one call for service,” said Winnipeg Police Deputy Chief Danny Smyth.

Every year police in the city respond to roughly 14,000 domestic dispute calls and of those only 2,000 result in charges.

– Call 911 for immediate help if you are in danger or fear for your safety.

– Call 1-877-977-0007 for the Manitoba government’s 24-hour domestic violence information/crisis line.
