EDMONTON – After a four month investigation Strathcona County RCMP have charged four men with more than 100 charges connected to drugs, guns and stolen property.
On November 26th three men were arrested in Edmonton. A fourth man was arrested a week later.
Police seized a restricted .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun and ammunition, a ‘significant’ amount of cocaine and heroin, along with GHB, hash oil, hydromorphone and close to one kilogram of methamphetamine.
Several stolen items, including tools, were also found.
“Getting crime guns and this quantity of drugs off our streets greatly reduces the impact of potential harm caused by illicit drug trade in our community and throughout the province,” said Supt. Gary Peck, Strathcona County RCMP.
Curtis James Workman, 43, is facing 77 charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, utter death threats, and intimidation of a justice system participant.
Christopher Lee Ferguson, 30, has been charged with 12 offences including trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and weapons offences.
Nelson Eric Mizera, 25, has been charged with 10 offences including trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and weapons offences.
Loren Andrew Boyko, 48, is facing six charges.
All of the men except Mizera remain in custody.
Workman, Ferguson, and Boyko are schedule to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 9.
