WINNIPEG — The annual Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade with the Grey Cup Festival this year passed through downtown. The parade was live streamed on this page at 4:30 p.m.
The Grey Cup Festival Santa Claus Parade starts on Portage Avenue at the University of Winnipeg and heads down Portage to Main Street where it turned south down Main, ending at William Stephenson Way. The parade kicked off at 4:30 p.m.
Block parties appropriate for the whole family start at 3:30 p.m. and the Royal Canadian Air Force’s world famous Snowbirds will mark the beginning of the parade with a fly by of the start location.
Road closures are as follows:
- 2:30 p.m.
- Portage Aveune from Sherbrook Street to Main Street
- 4 p.m.
- Main Street from McDermot Avenue. to St. Mary Avenue will close at 4 p.m.
- Pioneer Avenue from Main Street to Westbrook Street at 4 p.m.
- William Stephenson Way from Main Street to Waterfront Drive 4 p.m.
