HALIFAX – A class action lawsuit has been filed against Volkswagen on behalf of a driver from Bridgewater.
The lawsuit focuses on the defeat devices installed in several Volkswagen models to make them pass emissions tests.

The owners of the cars say they were duped by the false representation by the company, and they should be paid for diminished value of their cars. They also feel they should be paid for repair expenses.
The complainant is also looking for compensation for mental distress, humiliation and frustration.

The lawsuit was filed on Friday by lawyer Ray Wagner. There is no amount identified in the suit.
