HALIFAX – The Progressive Conservatives are calling for an investigation into the “cloud of scandal” surrounding the infamous secret recording of a conversation between Andrew Younger and Kirby McVicar.
In a release sent out Monday, the PCs say they got a copy of, “a more fulsome audio recording of the February 12 conversation,” on Monday and turned it over to police.

This statement came shortly after an email to Global News from Younger saying he too turned over the recording on Monday morning.
“Nova Scotians must be able to trust their Premier,” said PC house leader Chris d’Entremont.
“Today we’ve taken two important steps that will hopefully allow us to begin to get to the bottom of this scandal.”
The PCs also want to see the Auditor General investigate how personal service contracts are awarded under the Liberal government.
“The Premier says he has nothing to hide. If that’s so, he should welcome the opportunity to have his Chief of Staff appear before the committee to answer questions and put an end to the soap opera that unfolds daily at Province House,” d’Entremont said.
The PCs want to see McVicar put before a Legislative Committee and the Public Accounts Committee to, “answer questions.”

D’Entremont said the premier’s office is on the line and that they should cooperate if they have nothing to hide.
This all comes after two segments of the recording were released within the past two weeks.
In the most recent one, McVicar, premier Stephen McNeil’s Chief of staff, is heard suggesting Younger’s wife could be given a personal services contract to make up money the couple lost during Younger’s leave from cabinet.
