MONTREAL – Quebec’s Environment Minister has announced plans to restrict high-risk pesticides in the province.
The focus is to limit certain pesticides used in agriculture, such as neonicotinoids and atrazine, which have been banned in Europe for more than ten years.

Experts singled out neonicotinoids as a partial cause for the massive decline in bee colony populations in North American over the last few years.
The next step is for the Quebec government to table a draft bill to amend the Pesticides Act.
