Montreal construction worker hit by excavator

MONTREAL – A construction worker was sent to hospital after being hit by an excavator.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Belmont Street, near Robert-Bourassa Boulevard.

He suffered an ankle fracture and a gash to the head, but is expected to recover.

The large machines are used to dig up construction sites.
