REGINA – The RM of Sherwood finally has a new Reeve. The position had been vacant since early 2015 when Kevin Eberle was removed from office because of a conflict of interest.
Fourth-generation farmer Jeff Poissant (328 votes) was elected Reeve Wednesday night, beating out 61-year-old Nestor Mryglod (153 votes).
“We need the trust and integrity that this RM once had, we need it back. We need better working relationships with other levels of government. We seem to have lost that over the last several years,” Poissant said.

Poissant also works as a programmer for Varsteel. Mryglod is one of the founders of the “Why Tower Road?” group that has been vocal about its opposition to the province’s Regina Bypass plans.
The RM had 481 votes cast out of around 1000 eligible voters.
