YLW soars at BC Aviation Council Award

KELOWNA — Kelowna International Airport (YLW) has been recognized for its outstanding initiative and achievement as a community airport.

The British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC) awarded YLW with the 2015 William Templeton Award at the Vancouver Convention Centre on Tuesday.

“This is a tremendous achievement for the YLW campus,” says Sam Samaddar, the airport director. “We’ve certainly developed an airport that the community can be truly proud of, and really it’s because of our hard-working staff and the innovation that we’ve used to develop this world-class facility.”

This event honoured the many achievements of its members, industry leaders and youth, who benefit from the nearly $20,000 awarded annually in scholarships.
