VERNON – Four vehicles have been destroyed by fire in Vernon in the past five days.
On Monday night, RCMP and the fire department attended to a burning pickup truck at Rising View Way and Okanagan Hills Boulevard.
After the flames were extinguished, police seized the wreckage for examination as investigators try to determine if the incident is arson.
Last Wednesday at about 4:00 a.m., three vehicles were destroyed by fire on Davidson road under suspicious circumstances.
It’s not know if the two incidents are related.
“We still don’t have any reason to believe that we have an arsonist that is targeting vehicles at this point,” says RCMP spokesperson Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy.
Police are hoping tips from the public will aid their investigations.
