Safer and cleaner streets heading to downtown Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – When you head downtown in the evenings you’ll notice more security and cleaning staff on the streets.

On Thursday, the Downtown Winnipeg Biz said five additional street watch ambassadors will be walking around areas that have events at the MTS Centre, the Convention Centre and hotels and restaurants until midnight.

Five members of the downtown street cleaning team will be out cleaning streets until 7 p.m. on event nights.

The Downtown Biz businesses contributed $285,000 to pay for the additional staff.
