LETHBRIDGE – RCMP have charged Patrick McGann, 45, of Taber, Alta. with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon used for dangerous purposes.
Police responded to a call at around 10 a.m. Sunday at a residence 5 km west of Grassy Lake. When they arrived, three adults had been stabbed at what appeared to be a family gathering.
Shortly after the incident, Taber Police arrested McGann at a Tim Horton’s drive-through.
A 55-year-old male was rushed by STARS Air Ambulance to hospital and a 46-year-old female was also admitted to hospital for observation. Both victims remains in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
The third victim, a 28-year-old male, was also taken to hospital, but has since been released.
McGann remains in custody and will appear for his bail hearing via Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) in Taber Provincial Court on Oct. 6.
