SpiderMable drops puck at Tuesday’s Oilers game

EDMONTON – On Monday, she captured the hearts of thousands of Edmontonians – and Canadians – and Tuesday evening, the little girl known as SpiderMable helped kickoff the Edmonton Oilers game.

The Children’s Wish Foundation made Mable’s wish come true Monday by orchestrating a full day of superhero action. The six-year-old, who lives with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, wanted to fight crime like her hero Spider-Man.

So, with the help of City Hall, the Edmonton Police Service, West Edmonton Mall and the Valley Zoo, Mable helped rescue Oilers captain Andrew Ference from villain Mysterio. She was helped by her sidekicks Black Cat and Spider-Man.

The Oilers – including, of course, Ference and Connor McDavid – face the Arizona Coyotes. But, before faceoff, Mable dropped the puck. She was even given her very own SpiderMable Oilers jersey, with the number 10 on the back.
