Smoking is a common risk factor, as is age and occupational exposure to specific chemicals.

The most common symptom when identifying someone who may have bladder cancer is blood in the urine, which occurs in more than 80 per cent of cases.

The walk and run is happening in different cities across Canada and so far has raised $417,500 this year.

In Winnipeg, the walk and run, sponsored by Global News and parent company Shaw Media was at Assiniboine Park.
