Charity event raising funds to give Montreal SPCA a leg up

MONTREAL – Hundreds of people gathered at the base of Mount-Royal Sunday with their furry friends in tow for the fifth edition of the Anima-Plus Walk on All4s charity event.

Participants couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to walk on the mountain with their four-legged companions.

The event kicked off at 10:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 3:00 p.m.

The goal of today’s walk is to raise $75, 000 for the Montreal SPCA, the largest Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Quebec.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Every year, the Montreal SPCA cares for an estimated 15 000 animals. The money raised will help the SPCA care for those animals as they look for new forever homes.

While the walk was the main attraction, Global Montreal’s very own weather specialist, Jessica Laventure, had the distinct pleasure of emceeing the event that also featured music, face painting, bubble soccer, bouncy castles and a freestyle canine dance show.
