MONTREAL – A 53-year-old man is dead, after he smashed his vehicle into the loading dock of a private company in Ste-Brigide-d’Iberville, near Farnham, Friday night.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) received a call at around 8:45 p.m. about a man driving erratically.
SQ officers located the truck on Rang des Ecossais, but as they approached the suspect he apparently fled the scene.
He then drove his truck into a parking lot, and lost control of his vehicle before crashing into the loading dock.
He was rushed to hospital with severe injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The SQ turned the investigation over to Montreal police to ensure transparency.
Collision experts and investigators from the Major Crimes Unit are in Ste-Brigide, where they are trying to piece together the sequence of events.
