VANCOUVER – The University of B.C. ranks 25th among the world’s top 100 universities, according to an academic opinion survey in London, out Thursday.
The 2012 Times Higher Education Reputation Rankings surveyed 17,554 respondents from 137 countries. UBC rose to the 25th spot this year from 31st last year.

“UBC’s ranking reflects our strong commitment to international research collaboration and producing new knowledge that benefits Canada and the world,” said UBC president Stephen Troope.
The reputation results complement the Times Higher Education’s annual World University Rankings, which was released last fall and ranked the university 22nd out of 400 institutions.
