HALIFAX – You might have to figure out a different route if you plan to travel between the Halifax Peninsula and Dartmouth this weekend.
The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. Friday until 5:30 a.m. Monday.
As part of the Big Lift construction project, crews will install a device to connect the temporary decks.
Alison MacDonald, communications manager for Halifax Harbour Bridges, said that the bridge may open earlier if the work finishes earlier.
Over the next 12 months, there will be between 10-12 full weekend closures; the first six are scheduled for within the next two months.
The bridge was originally scheduled to be closed last weekend but hammering out a few last-minute details forced a delay.
