He told the court one juror selected last week could not continue to serve, and that person has been replaced by one of the alternates.
The trial is scheduled to last 65 days.
Richard Oland was 69 when he was found dead in his Canterbury Street office in Saint John on July 7, 2011.
There are several family members in court including Oland’s wife Lisa, his sister Lisa, his mother Constance and uncle Derek Oland.
The Oland family operates Moosehead Breweries — the oldest independently owned brewery in Canada — although Richard Oland left Moosehead in 1981.
