OTTAWA – Two of the three main party leaders will campaign in British Columbia today.

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is expected to focus on economic issues as he starts his day in the Kamloops-Thomson-Cariboo riding the Tories won in 2011. Harper moves on to NDP territory when he visits the new riding of Burnaby-South in the afternoon. New Democrats held both Burnaby ridings in the last Parliament.

The Tories claimed 21 B.C. seats in 2011.

NDP Leader Tom Mulcair, who’s been talking a lot about health-care reform lately, will attend an early event in Vancouver-Kingsway riding, which the party won handily four years ago.

Mulcair, will then move on to Cranbrook, where he is set to visit Kootenay-Columbia, a Conservative riding when Parliament was dissolved.

The NDP won 12 B.C. seats in 2011 and Mulcair hopes to at least double that number on Oct. 19.
