“My brother was a nice guy,” said Joyce Bird. “He was gentle and friendly and he was known for his sense of humor . I hope justice is served.”

Investigators say Good Dagger and Gurney lived together and earlier in the day of August 31 they had a fight, which escalated and led to Good Dagger’s death.

“Speaking with the Crown we are confident that the incident that caused the injuries to Mr. Good Dagger contributed to his death,” explains Staff Sgt. Scott Woods. “That’s why we went with the charge of manslaughter. Prior to that we became aware of a couple of incidences that the two were involved with conflict.”
Gurney will make his next court appearance on September 17th.
