City garbage truck crashes into hydro pole, TTC service affected

TORONTO – Several TTC streetcars are being rerouted in east-end Toronto after a city garbage truck slammed into a hydro pole early Friday morning.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Queen and Coxwell streets.

The collision caused overhead wires to dangle onto the roadway and safety concerns prompted the street closure.

There’s no indication when full TTC streetcar service will resume in the area.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
