Alcohol, speed believed to be factors in fatal collision south of Edmonton

EDMONTON — A 52-year-old man is dead following a motorcycle collision southwest of Edmonton Sunday morning.

The collision happened in the area of Township Road 504 and Range Road 270, just southwest of Devon, at around 6:30 a.m.

Details of the collision have not been released, but RCMP said the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

The driver, from Calmar, Alta., was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP believe alcohol and speed were factors in the collision.
