One man injured after vehicle plunged down embankment near Calf Robe Bridge

CALGARY – One man is recovering in hospital Saturday morning after a serious crash on Deerfoot Trail around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police say a vehicle heading south went off the road at Calf Robe Bridge.

It plunged 30 meters down a steep embankment.

The driver had to be freed from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

He told police he fell asleep at the wheel.

Police say there’s no indication alcohol was involved.
