KELOWNA – The Kelowna Falcons baseball team is set to kick off its run at the West Coast League’s championship on Tuesday. It ends a multi-year playoff drought for the team. The last time the Falcons appeared in the post season was in 2010.

Kelowna takes on the Bellingham Bells in Washington Tuesday night. The two teams will finish their best of three series at Elks Stadium in Kelowna. Games two and three are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday evenings. However, game three will only be played if necessary to decide the best of three series. The winning team will move onto the finals.

“We are going to take this one game at a time and go out and win game one first but ultimately we want to get to the dance and play for the championship,” says general manager Mark Nonis.

Nonis knows that winning it all won’t be a cakewalk.

“The four teams that are in the playoffs are meant to be there because they are the four toughest teams in the league,” he says.

The Falcons have never won a West Coast League championship.
