Drugs, explosives seized at Lac La Ronge First Nation

RCMP have seized explosives and drugs after searching a residence on the Lac La Ronge First Nation in Saskatchewan. 

Mounties from La Ronge, along with the Emergency Response Team, the Integrated Street Enforcement Team and the Explosive Disposal Unit, executed a search warrant at the residence at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Inside, they found 13 grams of cocaine, half-a-pound of marijuana, three sticks of emulsion explosive, a rifle and $3,700 in cash. 

Five people were arrest and so far one person has been charged. 

Douglas Charles, 30, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, unlawful possession of an explosive, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property. 

Charles made his first court appearance Thursday in La Ronge.

RCMP say charges are pending against two more people arrested at the residence. 

Lac La Ronge First Nation is about 355 km north of Saskatoon.
