TORONTO – A Whole Foods store in California was forced to remove $6 bottles of water containing three spears of asparagus after being mocked online earlier this week.
The bottles of “asparagus water” were spotted by a Los Angeles-area shopper who snapped a photo of the $6 product and shared it on Instagram.
“Somewhere in L.A., Whole Foods executives are laughing at all of us,” Marielle Wakim wrote.

However, Whole Foods said the product made it onto store shelves by mistake.
“We actually don’t sell asparagus water in our stores,” Liz Burkhart told USA Today.
“It was meant to be water with the essence of vegetables and/or mushrooms, which is typically made over a long period of time soaking in water,” Burkhart said. “It was made incorrectly and has since been removed.”
